The cost varies depending on the client's preferences. Our countertops typically start at $80-100/SF and will be adjusted for the design and complexity of the project. You will find this price to be very competitive and often more economical than final fabrication and installation costs of mid-grade granites and manufactured materials.
This is based on the client's desire. Concrete countertops are far more customizable than granite or manufactured materials. Inlays, textures, edge profiles, integral basins, colored aggregates/glass and fiber optic lighting are all design ideas that can be incorporated into custom concrete tops. If your looking for a manufactured look, we usually don't recommend concrete. If you want an organic hand crafted original consistent with latest trends, concrete countertops are your choice.
We use technologically advanced products specifically formulated for the decorative concrete industry. We will use the products and methods that are tailored to your projects needs to provide a countertop you will enjoy for a lifetime. Most importantly with countertops, we use some of the best sealers in the industry to keep your tops stain resistant. As with any countertop material, we recommend the use of a hot pad or trivet for hot pans and not leaving spills for lengths of time.
Use a mild, neutral pH cleaner or plain soap and water. Avoid using any acidic products or oxidizing agents.
Concrete overlays are exactly what the name says. It is the process of going over the top of existing concrete to repair structural defects and/or creating a decorative surface to enhance the look. Overlays are a great way to turn your existing concrete into a true show piece without the mess and cost of demolition. Concrete toppings range in thickness from micro toppings that are approximately the thickness of a credit card to 1/8" total all the way up to 1/2" stampable overlays. Textures, patterns and colors are up to you!
In many cases, an overlay may be more cost effective and/or convenient than removal and replacement of your existing concrete. There is not a one-size-fits-all answer. There are many variables to consider when determining whether an overlay is right for you. The most important being condition of the original slab and determining the proper preparation necessary to ensure a good bond. We will meet with you to review your project and provide an honest opinion. We've done simple overlay projects on newer slabs and we have also completed structural rebuilds of concrete steps that were eroded over 50 years!
Using the highest quality products and implementing a couple of critical steps will provide a concrete overlay that will last for decades, especially with a high quality sealer. First, we will review your project on site with you to provide an honest opinion whether an overlay is the right option. Next, we adhere to manufacturer's CSP (concrete surface profile) recommendations to ensure your slab is properly prepared for a good bond. We will work with you to develop a maintenance plan for your project to provide adequate sealing protection for years to come.
That's a great question. There are a lot of creative ideas for concrete. Fireplace mantles and hearths, benches, outdoor kitchens, firepits, faux rock, etc. are all options with concrete.
